Make Money from Seo Contest

I tried to join an seo competition last year, the Ituloy Angsulong seo competition sponsored by Seo Philippines. It was pure on experiment on my part, I just want to test if all those free seo tutorials which came from the so called seo experts really works.

The contest runs for almost three months and I really did a lot of experiment during the competition, I tried keyword density, I found out that having a higher keyword density could not help boost your ranking. I tried changing my template every now and then and it really affects my ranking, sometimes my Blog moves up and sometimes moves down, I tried duplicate content, not so sure if my blog was penalized. Links is really a big factor, having a lot of links from other sites could boost your ranking especially in Google.
On the first few weeks of the contest my Blog reached the first page of Google, but at the end of the contest it’s nowhere to be found. Luckily, my last minute change of template have a great impact on my ranking in Msn, a week before the contest ends, my Blog ranks number two and stays there till the end. So I was rewarded a 9,000 peso check for that effort.

That was the start of my Seo career. That winning, even it was pure luck really helps me when I first applied for an Seo job in Makati City. Now I’m here in Global City working as Seo Specialist. I’ve been here for more than a year now and the company has now several websites and they are contented with my work.

Reading free tutorials on the the Internet has really change my life. From Nobody, I am now an Specialist, even just in Seo. So keep on reading.
