We’ve been conditioned throughout our lives by the multi-billion dollar diet industry to believe that dieting, following strict food rules, and exercising a ton are the only ways to achieve weight loss. This is a total lie. The diet industry’s goal is to keep us trapped in the never-ending cycle of dieting, losing weight, gaining it back, and seeking another diet. Repeat. Even when you lose weight on a diet, it is designed to be difficult or impossible to maintain. 95% of dieters gain all their weight or more back within a year. This is what keeps the diet industry in business. As we have all experienced, each diet leads to an eventual binge because they simply are not sustainable.

The typical diet or quick fix costs $300-$1000 with no long term proven results whereas the program I am excited to tell you about is a fraction of that price and has shown proven sustained results!

I want you to know that it’s not your fault you haven’t lost weight and kept it off in the past on diets. I’ve worked in the Fitness and Wellness Industry for almost 10 years and have not once seen anyone on a diet lose weight and keep it off long term.

While struggling with my own weight problems a few years ago, I stumbled upon a revolutionary and little-known approach to weight loss that has nothing to do with what you eat and everything to do with creating a more peaceful relationship with food and mealtimes.

Hi! I’m Charmaine Ironside, I am a mom, a food lover and someone who struggled with her weight from age 11 to 30. Just a couple years ago I was 50 pounds heavier than I am today, I was constantly stressed about food and I really hated my body.

I would walk into my closet knowing it was going to be hard to find anything that looked decent and that I felt good about wearing. My mind was filled with constant self-criticism and shame about my body. Putting on jeans was a form of torture, and walking up stairs was exhausting.

Useless advice and information came my way constantly and the pressure to lose weight just made things worse. Just eat less food. Just eat more protein. Just do more cardio. Just do hot yoga. Just stop eating before 7pm. Just eat less carbs. Just use portion control. Just eat less fat. Just eat more fat. Just eat a cucumber before bed. Just drink more water. Bahhhh! Nothing worked. Does this sound familiar?

Around this time, I got a Degree in Kinesiology (the study of how the body moves) and became a fitness and nutrition coach. I would constantly criticize myself for not being able to get this weight thing figured out despite all my knowledge. I blamed myself for being lazy and lacking in willpower. I leapt from diet to diet, thinking that maybe this time, if I tried harder, the diet would work. Have you ever blamed yourself for your lack of weight loss success? You are not alone!

My success with diets varied, but it never stuck. Sometimes I would lose weight on a diet, but it was only matter of time until I gained it all back, plus more. It was painful and frustrating to live in an uncomfortable body and have such a mistrust of food and myself. Thoughts of food choices whirled around in my head constantly. All I yearned for was peace.

I proudly threw in the towel, with gusto! I turned away from focusing on my diet and refocused my attention on the way I was eating food. I learned that HOW I was eating my meals and my weight issues were highly correlated. Once I learned this important tidbit, I dove in head first, reading, studying, meeting experts, and taking part in every workshop and retreat I could. A whole new world opened up to me; an empowering new way of eating and living that I had never experienced before.

I am excited to share the incredible news that after 20 years of frustrating diets, I have discovered the biggest key to lasting weight loss and it has nothing to do with diets. By changing how I sit down and eat my meals I was able to drop almost 50 pounds in 8 months. The part I am so excited about is that 2 years later I am continuing to live my best life in my best body with no fear of gaining the weight back!
